About

Professional Service and Patient Care

In 2012, I received a master’s degree in psychological studies with a concentration in school counseling from Cambridge College in Chesapeake Virginia. In 2014, I received a master’s degree in clinical counseling from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. During my clinical master’s program, I provided individual and group counseling services to children and adults to learn how to work with all ages, cultural backgrounds, and gender. I have completed academic course training in family therapy and play therapy as well. In 2017, I was fully licensed by the NC Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors and for approximately 8 years, I concentrated my efforts on working with individuals/families with an assortment of disorders to include school age children with ADHD and ODD. I have worked with individuals and families that present with different situations and circumstances to include marital problems, couple issues, family situation, relationship concerns, parenting concerns, developmental transitions, spirituality, career issues, communication, intimacy, attachment, and self-esteem difficulties. I have provided services for patients with attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, just name a few. For 6 years, I worked with a psychiatrist as her assistant, which provided me with a basic understanding of medication management and to better advocate for patients who may be interested in taking medication to help manage his/her symptoms short-term. I am a Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and earned my certification from the Cleveland Center for Cognitive Therapy (CCCT). I treat individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other approaches when deemed necessary. If I do not believe that I have the experience or training to work with your particular condition, I will refer you to another mental health professional or agency that can serve you more effectively and work with your concerns or difficulties.
